COEHS Education Scholarships

1.) American GI Forum of Albuquerque Endowed Scholarship in Education

Applicant Criteria:

  • Full-time graduate student working on a MA, MS, EDSPC, or PhD in Education
  • First preference to student who is an Albuquerque resident
  • First preference to students of Hispanic heritage
  • First preference to student who is a veteran
  • GPA of 2.0 or better.

2.) Carl P. and Erma W. Dunifon Scholarship

Applicant Criteria:

  • Demonstrate academic achievement, GPA of 2.0 or better.
  • Demonstrate financial need (FAFSA).
  • Be enrolled as a full time student in the College of Education.
  • Preference shall be given to a single student without children.

3.) Nancy L. Fraser Doctoral Scholarship Fund

Applicant Criteria:

  • Demonstrate academic achievement.
  • Demonstrate financial need (FAFSA).
  • Be enrolled as a full-time doctoral student in the College of Education.
  • Scholarship may be awarded to the same student in successive semesters until completion of the doctorate, provided the student is making satisfactory academic progress toward the degree.

4.) The Emma May Olson Memorial Scholarship in Education

Applicant Criteria:

  • Native American student as first preference and only if no qualified Native American student can be identified may the scholarship be awarded to other students.
  • Recipients must be enrolled full-time in the College of Education.

Applicant Criteria:

  • Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited tribal, public, or private college or university.
  • Must be registered in a federal or state recognized tribe.

Applicant criteria:

  • Must be a graduate student

  • Full time

Allogan Slagle Memorial Scholarship

  • For all fields of study
  • Must be from a non-federally recognized tribe
  • Full-time status

10.) All Indian Pueblo Council Scholarship Grant Program

Applicant Criteria:

  • Enrolled and verified members of the following Pueblos: Cochiti, Jemez, Sandia, and Santa Ana
  • Tribal verification
  • Must show financial need

11.) Gates Millennium Scholars Program

Applicant Criteria:

  • Must be American Indian
  • US Citizen
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.3
  • Must have been a prior gates millennium scholar and continuing degree in certain areas including education

12.) American Indian Graduate Center Fellowship

Applicant Criteria:

  • Pursuing a post-baccalaureate graduate or professional degree as a full time student at an accredited institution in the U.S.;
  • Able to demonstrate financial need through submission of the AIGC Financial Need Form (FNF), and;
  • An enrolled member of a federally recognized American Indian or Alaska Native group, or provide documentation of descent (possess one-fourth degree verifiable federally recognized Indian blood) as verified through submission of a Tribal Eligibility Certificate (TEC).
