The purpose of this website is to provide information and support for current COEHS students and alumni in obtaining initial licensure and advancing their licensure levels.

NM PED Teacher Licensure Portfolio Information

COEHS Portfolio Rubric & Deadlines

All Portfolio Submissions and Scoring will be completed through Student Learning & Licensure (SLL).

Students will submit all Artifacts and Synopses (Reflections) in the Portfolio Section of SLL on the specific Page Numbers of the Portfolio.

Spring 2024 Deadlines

  • April 15: Portfolios Due in SLL
  • April 26: Scoring Completed by Faculty
  • May 3: Revisions Due in SLL
  • May 10: Revision Scoring Completed by Faculty

Summer 2024 Deadlines

  • July 15: Portfolios Due in SLL
  • July 20: Scoring Completed by Faculty
  • July 25: Revisions Due in SLL
  • July 30: Revision Scoring Completed by Faculty

Fall 2024 Deadlines

  • November 15: Portfolios Due in SLL
  • November 25: Scoring Completed by Faculty
  • December 1: Revisions Due in SLL
  • December 10: Revision Scoring Completed by Faculty

COEHS Portfolio Scoring Rubric.

  • All elements in the COEHS Licensure Portfolio will be scored as "Applying" or "Developing."
  • "Applying" is a passing score.
  • All 11 Pages in the COEHS Portfolio must receive a score of "Applying" to earn a Pass on the Portfolio.
  • Students may resubmit any Pages receiving a score of "Developing" by the deadline above for reassessment.

COEHS Alumni applying for Teacher Licensure Advancement

New Mexico has a 3-tiered licensure system. There are 2 pathways to obtain advanced licensure from Level 1 to Level 2 and Level 2 to Level 3.
