At the University of New Mexico, faculty effectiveness is assessed in four categories: (1) teaching, (2) scholarly work, (3) service, and (4) personal characteristics. The UNM Faculty Handbook describes roles and responsibilities, as well as outlines guidelines for all reviews: annual review, mid-probationary, promotion and tenure, and promotion to full professor.
