Language, Literacy, & Sociocultural Studies Faculty & Staff
Faculty in the Department of Language, Literacy and Sociocultural Studies (LLSS) have great expertise and commitment to societal and educational change. LLSS faculty are also committed to students success as evidenced by the advising offered and multiple forums in which students’ needs and interests can be addressed. LLSS faculty maintain an impressive level of scholarship, making an impact in all areas of education, as they are experts in the fields of literacy, language education, culture, bilingual education, and the social, political, and historic contexts of education. Their scholarship challenges systems of oppression and mobilize asset-based perspectives and decolonial practices. Their robust scholarship addresses theory, research methods, and practices that prepare students as scholars and leaders in their fields. LLSS faculty are also very active in their service to the university, local, state, profession, and tribal governments, and also participate in international work.
