Denise Zawada, PhD
Dr. Denise Zawada is an assistant professor in literacy education. She completed her graduate work at Johns Hopkins University and spent the past several years in the federal programs department as an educator trainer and instructional coach for 69 K-12 Title-funded schools in the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) in Raleigh, NC. Her research investigates teacher support for the implementation of state and local literacy polices and formal evaluation of these literacy policies, teachers' perceptions of professionalism and workplace job satisfaction, and instructional practices that improve student academic language development and reading comprehension.
