Dr. Lucero was born and raised in Albuquerque and is passionate about teaching college students and working at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Lucero received her BA in Exercise Science from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO where she also played college volleyball. She then moved back to Albuquerque and earned her MA in Adapted Physical Education and PhD in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Psychology from the University of New Mexico.
Her scholarly activities have focused on teachers’ motivation teaching students with disabilities in inclusive settings, students’ motivation in inclusive settings, and assessment in the classroom. She is grateful to be working in the incredible state of New Mexico. Dr. Lucero and her husband recently had a beautiful baby girl, and on her free time she loves working as a personal trainer helping people live healthier lives, yoga, going on hikes and mountain biking in the foothills with her huskies, and reading.
