Dr. Deyhle earned his PhD from Brigham Young University in Provo Utah, where he studied inflammation and immune cell responses to exercise-induced skeletal muscle damage and adaptation. As a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Florida Myology Institute, Dr. Deyhle studied the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cancer-induced skeletal muscle atrophy (cancer cachexia), with a focus on the role of innate immune cells and chemokine/cytokines. Dr. Deyhle’s current research focuses on the role of immunological factors and inflammation in exercise responses and in skeletal muscle pathology associated with cancer and other conditions.
