Rio Rancho Public Schools and UNM Faculty Collaborate on Adaptive Skiing Curriculum

Special Education faculty Dr. Veronica Moore and UNM alums Jen Geier and Karli Mercure are training students with disabilities to ski through a collaborative curriculum. Enhancing student lives through adaptive sports is a long-term vision of Dr. Moore, who has been teaching adaptive skiing for 12 years with Adaptive Sports Program NM. “Working with Dr. Moore on the curriculum has been instrumental to help students and their parents feel successful,” said Geier, the students’ teacher.
