Two HESS faculty appointed to Governor’s Medical Advisory Team

Dr. Christine Mermier and Dr. Fabiano Amorim, exercise science faculty in the HESS department were invited to join the Governor's Medical Advisory Team youth sports workgroup. The team, along with the two UNM Exercise Physiologists, includes personnel from the NM Department of Health, pediatricians, and public health experts. The mission is to study the many issues to consider regarding the ability of some or all youth sports to start up safely given the risks of COVID-19. This work will result in a document to be forwarded to the Governor and her health advisors which will help inform their decisions.
