Application Deadlines

Application Deadline for Domestic Applicants:

  • Rolling Admissions

Application Deadline for International Applicants:

  • Spring Semester: August 1
  • Fall Semester: May 1

Master of Arts and Master of Arts with alternative licensure

The application can be found at www.unm.edu/apply/, or the Special Education program web site. The following documents need to be uploaded to your online application:

  • Complete Graduate Application online http://www.unm.edu/apply/
  • A non-refundable application fee (pay with credit card online as part of Graduate Application)
  • One official transcript from each college you have attended. Official transcripts must be sent to Office of Admissions. (Exception: UNM transcripts)
  • One unofficial transcript from each college you have attended (Exception: UNM transcripts). A minimum G.P.A. of 3.2 overall or a minimum GPA of 3.2 for the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work.
  • Letter of Intent
  • MA Special Education Application form. Department staff will create the Supplemental Form section after the applicant has successfully applied. At that time, log-in to your application, and please upload completed form in the Supplemental Form section of the Application Fields.
  • Three Letters of Recommendation (Recommend at least one letter from a college instructor, one from an employer, and one from another professional contact)
