Ashton Tso

Ashton Tso is a Sr. Academic Advisor, originally from Sundance, NM, and currently working with both Gallup and Main Campus Students. He is part of the Halstooi clan (Meadows People, born for Kiya’aanii clan, Towering House). His Maternal Grandparents clan are Tsi’naajinii clan (Black Steak Wood People) & his Paternal Grandparents are Tachii’nii clan (Red Running into the Water).

Ashton’s inspiration for becoming an advisor was attending Dine College in Tsaile, Az as a First-Generation College Student. He realized there were many students like himself that needed guidance in navigating higher education. Now, he supports students in finding resources & pursuing their College goals.

Working at the UNM Gallup Campus, he helps future educators & scientists transition from Gallup to Main Campus. He enjoys helping students figure out a path in finishing their bachelor’s or building off an Associates Degree on Main Campus.

If you need a new show to watch, Ashton recommends Reservation Dogs. His favorite Avenger is the Hulk. Staying on the topic of green, Ashton prefers green chile.
