Learn how to make sports and recreation accessible for individuals with disabilities! This exciting course focuses on tips and techniques that allow people with physical challenges to participate in sports such as skiing, wakeboarding, surfing and more. There is no pre-req for this course, and it is for anyone who believes that fun, meaningful recreational opportunities should be available for the entire community.

Physical Education Graduate Students! Have you ever wondered about your legal obligations when teaching students with disabilities? Do you need ideas on ways to modify or adapt your P.E. instruction to accommodate all students? Do you need help deciphering special education legal acronyms and terms such as LRE, IEP, IDEA, 504, Manifest Determination, etc? If so, then this class is perfect for you!! This course is specifically designed for physical education teachers and sports admin personnel, and is a perfect elective for your graduate program. Registration is restricted to graduate students in HESS, and the course will specifically address issues educators will face in the public schools.
