UNM Athletic Training Program Open House

The Athletic Training Open House offers prospective students a glimpse of what Lobo life could be like in this path as a student and the professional path as an athletic trainer. Offered annually since 2006, this event allows the UNM athletic training students a forum to showcase the UNM athletic training program, a platform to present educational projects, and an opportunity to host speakers that promote the profession of athletic training.
The 2019 Athletic Training Open House hosted over 40 high school students who have expressed an interest in attending UNM and majoring in athletic training. Our guest speaker was David Gallegos, ATC, who serves as the District 7 Representative for the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA). Mr. Gallegos presented on "ATs are Health Care Providers” and the opportunities available in athletic training for diverse populations.
